Who we are: barAffiliate is a lean, independent product-testing and buying-guide publication covering multiple everyday categories. We are not a marketplace, a deals-aggregator, or a spec-sheet rewrite service. We occupy the “for most people” recommendation space: helping a shopper who already knows what category of product they need decide which specific one to buy.
Our standards: We buy what we test. We do not accept free units in exchange for favorable coverage. If that policy ever changes for a specific piece of content, we will disclose it explicitly on that page rather than staying silent about it.
The Verdict Stamp: Every product we cover carries a Verdict Stamp, a letter grade or “Editor’s Pick” designation tied to a fixed rubric. We evaluate real-world performance, value for money, build quality, and how a product compares to close alternatives. The grade is not for sale and is never influenced by whether a link is an affiliate link.
Who it’s for, and who it’s not: Every review on this site includes a section on who the product is a good fit for, and just as importantly, who it is not a good fit for. We believe a review that never says “skip this one” is not a review you can fully trust, and we build that principle into every piece of content we publish.
How we choose what to cover: We focus on depth over breadth. Rather than covering every category shallowly, we go deep on a smaller number of verticals (“Desks”) at a time, building genuine expertise before expanding into new areas.
AI and our content process: We use AI tools to help with research synthesis, first-draft generation, and editing efficiency. AI never replaces a human’s first-hand experience with a product. Every review, comparison, and buying guide on this site is reviewed and approved by a named human editor before publishing, and any hands-on claims reflect genuine use, not AI-generated assumptions.
